About the Artist
Susanna Snodgrass is mostly self-taught. She began painting five years
ago after an essential period of "emptying" from a 21-year career as
a graphics designer. The unwinding from this career was a slow and
difficult practice of "not doing" and of penetrating self-inquiry.
This process of relearning made fertile the "emptiness" from which
her paintings arrived.
Artist's Statement
"I paint as a practice of self-inquiry, so that through observation,
investigation and vigilance to the practice, symbols and images can
emerge as openings with which to engage in the unfolding, mysterious
nature of Being."
