About the Artist
Linda Parkinson specializes in wildlife imagery with a particular
focus on birds and their habitat. Her work clearly shows a passion
and knowledge of her subjects and her style is characterized by fine
detail, vibrant color and an astute attention to animal anatomy.
Linda has been painting since childhood and is an honors graduate in
animal sciences from the University of Maryland. During her post-graduate
studies in wildlife at Humboldt State University she became inspired
to specialize in wildlife art. Since then her watercolor paintings
of wildlife have gained attention worldwide. Her work is frequently
accepted in juried shows. She has been a finalist in the Artist's Magazine's
Annual Art Competition and her artwork has been published in Wildlife
Art Magazine, American Falconry, and in two books: Namibia, the Independent
Traveler (Hippocrene Books) and Catalog of California Seabird Colonies
(U.S. Fish & Wildlife Publications).
Linda is enchanted by the beauty of the natural world and is actively
involved in supporting local, national, and international wildlife
and environmental organizations.
