About the Artist
Theresa Oats Lives and paints in the countryside of Loleta, just south
of Eureka, California. She is an accomplished landscape painter where
she frequently paints on location or within her garden. Additionally
she has a love for figure painting where her graceful paintings make
use of light and form to reveal physical and spiritual relationships
with the natural world.
Artist's Statement
"Observing a subject from life is fascinating; through time, no matter
how short the interval, there are transitions taking place. Change in
light and shadow and movement reveal different expressions and the
element of surprise is everywhere. Over the years, images in my mind's
eye of what flowers, people, trees etc. 'look like' have changed. As
I paint I succumb to newly acquired perceptions."
